Guest Lecture on Cleft Lip and Palate Management at SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital
SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital organised a guest lecture for the postgraduate students and faculty of the Department of Orthodontics, SRMKDC, featuring Dr. Navaneethan R, Professor, Saveetha Dental College. The session offered an engaging academic interaction focused on the clinical management of cleft lip and palate cases.
Dr. Navaneethan R shared practical insights drawn from his extensive clinical experience, with detailed case-based discussions that connected theory to real-world practice. A key highlight of the lecture was the step-by-step explanation of Nasoalveolar Molding (NAM) techniques, where he discussed fundamental principles, common challenges in impression making for cleft children, and the critical role of early intervention in improving treatment outcomes.
The interactive format encouraged open discussion, allowing postgraduate students to clarify doubts and deepen their understanding of complex orthodontic procedures. The session proved to be both informative and impactful, contributing meaningfully to the academic enrichment of the postgraduate community at SRMKDC.
