SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital hosted significant academic engagement for postgraduate students and faculty

SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital hosted Mr. Andrew Edwards, Former Dean and Vice President of the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow, on 16 December 2025. The visit marked a significant academic engagement for postgraduate students and faculty of the Departments of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics.

An interactive academic session was held at Lecture Hall 1, where Mr. Edwards shared his vast academic and clinical experience, offering insights into contemporary concepts and global perspectives in orthognathic surgery. The session encouraged active participation, critical thinking, and meaningful knowledge exchange among postgraduate students from both departments.

The Dean of the institution, along with the Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Head of the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, participated in in-depth academic discussions with Mr. Edwards. Several interdepartmental orthognathic cases were deliberated, highlighting the importance of collaborative treatment planning and a multidisciplinary approach in the management of complex dentofacial deformities.
