SRM Kattankulathur Dental College strictly follows the MDS curriculum as the drafted by the Dental Council of India. The college offers MDS courses of various specialities in Dentistry that include Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry,Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and periodontology .
After clearing the entrance exam, students have to participate in the counselling process organized by the respective authorities. Seats will be allotted to candidates based on the availability of seats, rank and filled choices. It is the field with 100% placement. After completion of the BDS course, the candidates can opt for a PG degree MDS (Master of Dental Surgery). Here in MDS the candidate can choose a field in which he/ she is interested in and pursue it. MDS course is a 3-year course which comprises of the 1 year of basic sciences along with the clinical practice in their opted field next the following 2 years will be of clinical practice. Exams will be conducted in the 1st and 3rd years of the 3 year MDS course.

- All MDS admissions for SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) formerly known as SRM University will be done through All India common counseling by DGHS.
- Online Registration is open from 1st September 2022 for first round of counseling.

The Candidates Selected through All India Common counseling through DGHS for admissions at SRM Kattankulathur Dental College & Hospital, should report to The Dean between 10 am to 5 pm within the DGHS stipulated reporting dates for each round of counseling.

- (b) OBC certificate issued by the competent authority. The sub-caste should tally with the Central List of OBC. The OBC candidates should not belong to Creamy Layer. The OBC certificate must be in the given format
- (c) Disability Certificate issued from a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board for 21 Benchmark Disabilities as per the Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016. No other PH certificate, issued by any other Authorities/ Hospital will be entertained

Candidates without original certificate/ documents shall not be allowed to take admission. Candidates who have deposited their original documents with any other Institute/ College/ University and come for admission with a certificate stating that "their original certificates are deposited with the Institute /College/ University" will not be allowed to take admission.
Allotment letter given by DGHS for admission is subject to fulfillment of all eligibility criteria prescribed by the DCI and Medical fitness of the candidates. Those who do not fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria and not found medically fit will not be admitted to the course of study to which they are allotted by the DGHS.
