About Us


  • Oral Medicine and Radiology, the discipline comprises of the specialities of Oral Medicine, which deals with clinical diagnosis and management of a wide range of orofacial conditions oral precancer, oral mucosal diseases, orofacial pain, salivary gland diseases, temporomandibular joint disorders and oral manifestations of systemic diseases amongst many.
  • The speciality of Oral Radiology deals with diagnostic oral and maxillofacial imaging. Our department is well equipped with both conventional and state of the art advanced imaging modality contributing to efficient patient care as well as research.
  • We have a fully digital picture archiving and communication system aiding in convenient access to radiographic images from all departments in the dental college. Our students are trained primarily focussing on clinical skills, communication skills and counselling which constitutes the baseline in establishing the trust with the patient which is most important for successful clinical practice.
  • They are also given hands on training in taking and processing radiographs with the necessary precautions. Students are motivated to participate in conferences, seminars and to present scientific papers/posters across the state and the country and we also constantly encourage their aptitude for research.
  • We also have a connected tobacco cessation centre which helps in identifying individuals who need help quitting and are managed accordingly. Our department as a whole strives hard, giving our best to deliver quality oral health care to patients and impart thorough knowledge to students, our humble contribution for the betterment of mankind.
