Srilankan Embassy visit to SRMKDC

SRM Kattankulathur Dental College & Hospital welcomed distinguished guests, Prof. Dr. Manjula Attygalla and Prof. Dr. Gamini Navartne from the Sri Lanka Medical Council, for a faculty visit on November 30th and December 1st, 2023.

The esteemed visitors explored SRM Kattankulathur Dental College & Hospital and SRM Medical College & Hospital, engaging with Dr. N. Vivek, Dean (Dental), Prof. & Head, Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and key faculty members and heads of departments. A special presentation showcased our cutting-edge infrastructure and achievements.

The visit aimed to recognise and facilitate Sri Lankan students pursuing the BDS course. Prof. Dr. Manjula Attygalla, a pioneer in dental education in Sri Lanka, expressed their commendation for the dental facilities and interacted with faculties and students.

Beyond dentistry, the delegation explored medical research at SRMIST, visiting the CV Raman Research Park, the Animal House, and the Cell Culture Lab. Lt Col (Dr) A. Ravi Kumar, Pro VC Medical and Health Sciences, also joined the discussions.

The visit culminated with meetings with SRMIST’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. C. Muthamizhchelvan, and Registrar, Dr. S. Ponnusamy, showcasing SRMIST’s commitment to international collaborations.
