National Conference on Intelligence in Dentistry
The Department of Public Health Dentistry at SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital organized a two-day SERB funded National level workshop on “Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry” on 9th and 10th August 2024 at Dr. T. P. Ganesan Auditorium (Mini Hall 2), SRMIST-KTR.
The Chief Guest for the program was Dr. L. Swasticharan, Additional Deputy Director General of Health Services & Director (EMR) at Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The Guest of Honor was Dr. M. B. Aswath Narayanan, Professor & Head, Tamil Nadu Govt. Dental College & Hospital.
This workshop was designed for dental professionals, researchers, and students who are keen to delve into the world of AI and its applications in dentistry. Attendees gained insights into the latest AI technologies and how they can be leveraged to enhance diagnostic accuracy, streamline treatment planning, and improve patient outcomes.

The workshop featured prominent experts in the field of AI and dentistry representing the educational institutions in the country, such as the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore, AIIMS New Delhi, and RIIMS Imphal. The event welcomed international speakers from Google LLC, Simmer Tech USA, Anna University, and SRMIST. The guest speakers shared their insights, research findings, and real-world applications, providing the students and participants with a comprehensive understanding of the current landscape and future directions of AI in dental practice. On the whole, the event received excellent feedback from the participants.
