Department of Public Health Dentistry, SRMKDC, Conducts Community Dental Outreach Under Nalam Kakkum Stalin Initiative

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital (SRMKDC), actively participated in a free dental camp conducted on 20 December 2025 at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Guduvanchery. The camp was organised in collaboration with the Government of Tamil Nadu under the Nalam Kakkum Stalin initiative, with the objective of extending essential oral health services to socioeconomically underserved sections of society.

SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital is a leading institution committed to excellence in dental education, clinical care, and community service. Alongside its academic and clinical responsibilities, SRMKDC places strong emphasis on outreach programs that promote preventive oral health care and awareness at the community level.

The Department of Public Health Dentistry plays a central role in these initiatives by focusing on oral health promotion, disease prevention, and early diagnosis, particularly among vulnerable populations. During the camp, beneficiaries were screened for common oral health conditions, provided basic dental consultations, and educated on the importance of oral hygiene practices and preventive care.

Through such community-based programs, SRMKDC continues to support public health efforts and contribute meaningfully to improving oral health outcomes, aligning institutional expertise with government-led welfare initiatives.
