The Department of Public Health Dentistry, SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital, successfully conducted a Dental Screening and Oral Health Education Camp at Shree Niketan Patasala School, Adhanur, from 6th July to 10th July 2026.
The primary objective of the camp was to assess and evaluate the oral health status of school children through comprehensive dental screening, identify common oral health conditions requiring preventive or therapeutic care, and promote awareness on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene.
During the five-day outreach programme, a total of 1,725 students underwent oral health screening. The students also received interactive oral health education sessions covering proper brushing techniques, the importance of healthy dietary habits, prevention of dental diseases, and the significance of regular dental check-ups.
The camp served as an important initiative in promoting preventive oral healthcare and facilitating the early detection of oral health problems among school children. Through such community outreach programmes, the Department of Public Health Dentistry continues to strengthen its commitment to improving oral health awareness and delivering quality preventive dental care to the community.
