SRM Kattankkulathur Dental College & Hospital Conducts Oral Health Screening and Awareness Camp

The Department of Public Health Dentistry at SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital organized an Oral Health Screening Camp on 16th March 2026 at SRM Valliammai Engineering College as part of its ongoing community outreach initiatives.

The primary objective of the camp was to assess and evaluate the oral health status of students and to understand their level of awareness regarding the importance of maintaining proper oral hygiene. A team of dental professionals and interns conducted systematic oral examinations, identifying common dental issues such as dental caries, gingival problems, and early signs of oral diseases.

In addition to the screening, students were educated on effective oral hygiene practices, including proper brushing techniques, dietary considerations, and the importance of regular dental check-ups. The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to clarify their doubts and adopt better oral health habits.

The camp witnessed active participation from students, making it a meaningful initiative in promoting preventive dental care and reinforcing the importance of oral health awareness among young adults.
