Health Education and Screening Camp Promotes Preventive Health Awareness on Campus

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital, organised a Health Education and Screening Camp at SRM Mechanical Engineering College on 11 August 2026, promoting awareness of healthy lifestyle and oral health practices among the campus community.

The session highlighted the importance of maintaining healthy dietary habits, adequate sleep and proper oral hygiene as essential components of overall health and well-being. Participants were also made aware of the in-house dental care facilities available within the university, encouraging them to seek timely professional care whenever required.

As part of the programme, oral health screening was conducted to identify dental concerns that may require further evaluation or treatment. Referral cards were provided to participants wherever necessary, facilitating access to appropriate dental care.

The camp reinforced the importance of awareness, prevention and timely intervention in promoting better health outcomes and contributing to a healthier campus community.
