Educational Field Visit Enhances Students’ Understanding of Water Treatment and Public Health
The Department of Public Health Dentistry, SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital, organised a two-day educational field visit on 4 and 5 August 2026, providing undergraduate dental students with valuable practical exposure to water treatment processes, water quality management, and environmental sanitation.
The visit offered students an opportunity to observe and understand the various aspects of water treatment and quality management, highlighting the importance of safe water in maintaining community health and preventing waterborne diseases.
The field experience complemented classroom-based learning by helping students connect theoretical concepts with practical applications in environmental and public health. It also strengthened their understanding of the relationship between environmental sanitation, safe water practices, and disease prevention.
The educational visit served as a valuable learning experience, equipping students with a broader perspective on the role of public health dentistry in promoting environmental health and contributing to healthier communities.
